KSI Surabaya held a “club activity report event” to conclude the club activities of the semester. In the club recruitment conducted through the KSI specialization project, as many as 76 students and graduates participated. They had formed a total of eight clubs (Korean food, K-pop dance, K-pop song, Korean drama, Korean movie, Korean conversation (beginner/intermediate), and K-beauty).
This event was held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Surabaya, and each club announced the results of their activities so far. In addition, the participants showed off their hidden talents through K-pop dancing and singing performances. At the end of the event, three excellent clubs and six students who wrote excellent reviews were selected and awarded.
Due to the prolonged COVID-19, most clubs had to conduct their activities online. Using this event as an opportunity, learners were able to ease their frustration and strengthen friendships and bonds among club members.
Liliek Soelistyo, the head of the KSI Surabaya, said, “Through this club activity, participants from different backgrounds were able to experience unification through the same interests.” Participants also agreed, “It was a very beneficial time to learn more about Korean culture and make friends.”
