The King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter KSIF, President: Kang Hyounhwa,) has announced the co-production of a Korean language education program, "Let’s Speak Korean" (Cùng nói tiếng Hàn) with the Educational Television Cetre-Vietnam Television and KSI Center Vietnam. Educational Television Cetre-Vietnam Television is a public educational broadcasting company equivalent to Korea’s EBS. It is the first time a public broadcasting company in Vietnam has produced a Korean education program.

"Let’s Speak Korean" (Cùng nói tiếng Hàn) is an educational program for Vietnamese people who are learning the Korean language for the first time. It is broadcasted on VTV7, Vietnam’s terrestrial public broadcasting channel, at 6:30 p.m. for thirty minutes on Wednesdays and Fridays, for twenty times with its premiere on September 15. You may watch the previous episodes through the KSIF and VTV7 websites.

Lee Kyu-rim, director of KSI Center Vietnam, says “It is very meaningful that a Korean education program is being broadcasted on a land-based public channel which anyone can watch for free, at a time when face-to-face learning is difficult all over Vietnam due to COVID-19.” He added, “It is proof of the passion for Korean language education in Vietnam that Korean is selected as a first foreign language, and then a terrestrial public broadcasting company produces a Korean education program and airs it in prime time when all the families have dinner and watch TV together.”

Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa, the president of Educational Television Cetre-Vietnam Television, said, “With the 30th year anniversary of the formal establishment of Korea-Vietnam diplomatic relations coming up in 2022, Vietnamese people are more interested in Korean culture and language than ever before. We will continue to cooperate with KSIF, a trustworthy Korean education institute, to develop differentiated educational contents.”

With this joint production of a Korean education program, KSIF provides opportunities to high schools that have Korean programs to experience Korean culture, in cooperation with Korean Language Education Center of Ho Chi-Minh City. In addition, it is planning to expand the dissemination of Korean language and culture by supporting the Korean education and Korean culture events at universities in Vietnam.
