The King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter "KSIF") will host the “King Sejong Institute Regional Online Workshop in the Americas” targeting overseas Korean educators in the Americas for three days from August 25 to 27.
The workshop, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by KSIF, is targeting the members of KSI and local Korean language experts. In addition, it will be broadcast live to the members of KSI, and local Korean educators in 14 countries in the Americas, in response to COVID-19.
This workshop, as the first of its kind for the Asia and Oceania region conducted in late June, will focus on retraining on practical affairs, and a cultural education training program teaching methods for local staff of KSI.
To begin, the cultural-education training program is prepared with various experience activities such as Korean food, Hangeul calligraphy, fusion Korean traditional music, traditional knot craft, etc., based on the Korean culture favored in the American region. At the same time, practical retraining will be conducted regionally in the United States and South America, on plans to disseminate Korean language and culture by KSI in each region. With the continuing spread of COVID-19, teaching methods will be provided, regarding operation of the online program education, and discussions will be held for each department among the members of the respective institutions.
The workshop, held online in response to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, can be participated in real-time through the official YouTube channel of KSIF. The third workshop is planned for November in the Europe, Middle East, and African regions.
