KSIF-KOICA Supporting Education for Korean Language Teachers

  1. Enhancing the teaching competence and understanding of local status through specialized education of each organization

The King Sejong Institute Foundation (hereinafter referred to as KSIF) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (hereinafter referred to as KOICA) support the retraining of teachers through their specialized programs.

KSIF, an institute which disseminates Korean language and culture worldwide, offers the volunteers of KOICA: △ online retraining courses and special lectures for Korean teachers; and △ use of the online King Sejong Institute. Likewise, KOICA, is actively training and dispatching volunteers overseas for international cooperation, and will provide the teachers of KSIF with: △ training for understanding local situations; and △ training for infectious disease response.

The online retraining course for Korean language volunteers of KOICA will be operated from June 17 to the end of December this year via the online King Sejong Institute (www.iksi.or.kr) of KSIF.

A staff member of the KOICA Global Human Resources Education Center explains, “Many of the KOICA volunteers are already using the contents of KSIF, such as Sejong Korean Book, so the training program of KSIF will be a good opportunity to strengthen their teaching capacity. I hope that the education cooperation will expand in the future.”

KSIF plans to work for the reinforcement of expertise such as retraining by providing Korean language education contents of KSI to overseas Korean educators.
